A year ago, my family and I went on a cruise to the Caribbean Islands. We set sail from Fort Lauderdale, Florida on the Carnival cruise line Ecstasy.

Our first stop was Jamaica. When we first got off the boat, we were approached by tons of the locals, who offered us a taxi ride around the island. We went to Dunn's River Falls, a waterfall that people can swim in, and climb. After doing that, we went down to the beaches and spent most of the rest of the day in the ocean. The lifestyle of the Jamaican people was interesting. Jamaica is a very poor island, therefore the people are more pushy towards people buying their things, but they are willing to barter. All together, the island was beautiful.

After Jamaica, we went to the Cayman Islands. After walking around for awhile, we went on a swimming with sting rays excursion. Taking a boat out from the port, we traveled out to a sand bar in the middle of the ocean.

As soon as our boat pulled up, the sting ray swarmed around us. The instructors showed us how to feed them, and we were able to pick them up. They say if you kiss a sting ray, you'll have seven years of good luck!
